Authentic is a collection of artworks by Buhle Nkalashe. This body of work is influenced by young African creatives in Africa and focuses on how contemporary African culture and design have evolved over the years. The vision for Authentic is about appreciating and depicting the growth of young African entrepreneurs and creatives.

The healing and change of the old colonized African mindset are what drives Nkalashe to paint and be inspired by the youth of today. Nkalashe feels that it is important to document the positive current times and hope to instill a beautiful creative mindset to those who are lost within the structures and expectations of society. Nkalashe believes this will allow the viewer to be encouraged and to look internally to find their purpose. In order to bring positivity to the world through areas of art, design, music, and soul, the work encourages you to create your own style, movement, rhythm, or passion.
